San Francisco 49ers News & Updates

The San Francisco 49ers are bringing in experienced kicker Matthew Wright as a replacement for Jake Moody, who is unable to participate in Thursday's matchup against the Seattle Seahawks because of a high ankle sprain.

Moody suffered this injury during Sunday's defeat to the Arizona Cardinals when he was tackling DeeJay Dallas during a kickoff return.

In addition to Wright, the team evaluated several other kickers, including Randy Bullock, Riley Patterson, Anders Carlson, and Matt Coghlin.

Wright comes with a background of playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, and Carolina Panthers. He boasts a field goal success rate of 40 out of 47 attempts and an extra point success rate of 35 out of 37.
