San Francisco 49ers News & Updates

The San Francisco 49ers have learned that Brandon Aiyuk will miss the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery for tears in both the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments.

Deebo Samuel is dealing with pneumonia, which has caused fluid to accumulate in his lungs. He remains hospitalized, and it is unclear when he will be able to return.

Aiyuk sustained his injury during the second quarter while playing against the Chiefs. Initial fears of an ACL tear were confirmed by further testing, revealing the full extent of the injuries.

With Aiyuk sidelined for the season, the 49ers continue to struggle with a thin roster due to injury issues. Important players like Christian McCaffrey, Dre Greenlaw, Javon Hargrave, and Talanoa Hufanga have missed considerable playing time.

As they prepare for Sunday's matchup with the Cowboys, the 49ers hope to have both Samuel and Jauan Jennings ready to play. If they remain unavailable, the team will look to Ricky Pearsall, Jacob Cowing, Ronnie Bell, and Chris Conley to step up.

George Kittle, who delivered an outstanding performance against the Chiefs, is currently dealing with a foot sprain. His status is day-to-day, while McCaffrey, Greenlaw, and kicker Jake Moody are most likely unable to return this week.
