Lenoir's physical abilities stood out to the 49ers during his initial rookie minicamp. However, he made an early error by sharing a video of his practice sessions where he displayed excessive aggression, leading to a fine for both the team and coach Kyle Shanahan.

Overcoming this early challenge, Lenoir became a standout player in 2023, securing a place as both the starting outside cornerback and the team's top slot corner. His impactful performances and intense playing style have won over his teammates, including Nick Bosa and Fred Warner.

The newly signed extension provides Lenoir with the opportunity to address his earlier misstep, as he intends to reimburse Shanahan for his son's educational expenses. While the 49ers are hopeful that Lenoir will be a key player for the next five years, they are currently concerned about the potential absences of Bosa, who is dealing with a hip issue, and George Kittle, who has a hamstring injury, for their upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks. Meanwhile, Bosa's hip problem appears more severe, compounded by punter Mitch Wishnowsky's back injury, prompting the team to add Pat O'Donnell to the practice squad.
