49ers Fall Short to Cardinals 24-23 After Losing Kicker Jake Moody and a 13-Point Lead

The San Francisco 49ers faced a major challenge when kicker Jake Moody suffered a high right ankle sprain while attempting to tackle a returner during their match against the Cardinals.

Without running back Christian McCaffrey, the 49ers lack strength near the goal line. Quarterback Brock Purdy admits there's a need for more aggression and leadership in these key situations.

The 49ers have a quick turnaround with a forthcoming Thursday night game against the Seahawks. They plan to evaluate several kickers and are likely to sign someone to replace Moody on their roster.
