San Francisco 49ers News & Updates

The San Francisco 49ers incurred a $100,000 fine due to an incident involving an inactive player during their match with the Arizona Cardinals.

Cornerback Charvarius Ward became involved in a physical exchange with tight end Trey McBride near the sideline. McBride pushed Ward into the 49ers' bench, prompting Ward to grab McBride's face mask in response.

Dre Greenlaw, who was injured and part of the 49ers' team but not playing, stepped in and pushed McBride away from Ward. Although no penalties were issued during the game itself, all three players were fined afterward.

McBride faced a fine of $9,545 for unnecessary roughness, Ward was fined $11,255 for grabbing the face mask, and Greenlaw incurred a $14,069 fine for unnecessary roughness.

The team, as a whole, was penalized for breaching the regulation that prevents inactive players from engaging in unnecessary physical contact with the opposition.
