San Francisco 49ers News & UpdatesThe San Francisco 49ers, already grappling with the absence of key players, have now added George Kittle and Charvarius Ward to their injury list. Kittle is suffering from a hamstring issue, while Ward is dealing with both hamstring and knee problems. Both players did not participate in Thursday's practice, casting doubt on their availability for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Coach Kyle Shanahan mentioned that both players are likely to be questionable. He expressed hope that they might get some practice time on Friday. Additionally, Nick Bosa had a limited practice session due to a rib issue. These injuries compound the 49ers' woes, as they have already placed Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve and lost Deebo Samuel to a calf injury. McCaffrey is anticipated to be out for at least three weeks, while Samuel is expected to miss "a couple of weeks." The severity of Kittle and Ward's injuries remains unclear, although both were full participants in Wednesday's practice. If Kittle cannot play, Eric Saubert is likely to start at tight end. If Ward is unavailable, rookie Renardo Green might see increased playing time at cornerback. The Rams are also contending with injuries, including those of top receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, as well as offensive linemen Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson.
