Tampa Bay Buccaneers News & Updates

Jake Moody, the kicker for San Francisco, kept his confidence intact despite missing three field goals earlier in the game against Tampa Bay. He later redeemed himself with a crucial 44-yard field goal as the game ended, securing a 23-20 win for the 49ers.

Christian McCaffrey made his season debut, contributing 39 rushing yards and catching six passes for 68 yards. Meanwhile, Baker Mayfield led a drive for Tampa Bay that resulted in a field goal to tie the game, but Moody's decisive kick ensured the victory for San Francisco.

There was an incident on the sideline involving Deebo Samuel and long snapper Taybor Pepper after Samuel approached Moody. Moody attributed the encounter to the heat of the moment and stated he did not expect an apology from Samuel.

Brock Purdy, the quarterback for the 49ers, threw touchdowns to Ricky Pearsall and George Kittle, with his passes laying the groundwork for Moody's decisive field goal. Pearsall, who made his return after an injury, scored his first NFL touchdown with a 46-yard catch.

The Buccaneers erased an early 10-0 deficit with a touchdown following a mistake by San Francisco's punt returner. Irving gave Tampa Bay a 17-13 lead in the fourth quarter, but a touchdown by Kittle put the 49ers ahead again before Moody's winning kick.

Injuries during the game included Nick Bosa playing for the 49ers despite a hip issue, while the Buccaneers saw Tristan Wirfs, Zyon McCollum, and Chris Braswell leave the game.

The 49ers are set to host Seattle next Sunday, while the Buccaneers will have a bye week.
