San Francisco 49ers News & Updates

The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver, Ricky Pearsall, made a return to practice on Monday, marking 44 days since he was shot.

The team had opened a 21-day practice period for Pearsall on Friday, which allowed him to begin the process of coming back from the reserve/non-football injury list. This was his first practice session since August 29th.

For Pearsall to participate in his first regular-season game, he must be activated within a three-week window; otherwise, he'll remain on the NFI list for the rest of the season.

Pearsall sustained a gunshot wound to the chest in an attempted robbery incident in downtown San Francisco. Fortunately, the bullet exited his back without hitting any vital organs, which contributed to his swift recovery.

Pearsall was selected by the 49ers with the 31st overall pick in the April draft after playing college football at both Arizona State and Florida.

His return brought a positive impact on the team’s morale, and his experience reminded teammates to appreciate life and their relationships with loved ones.
