The Detroit Tigers extended their series of victories with a 5-3 win against the Minnesota Twins on Friday night.
Miguel Cabrera opened the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning. The Twins answered back with two runs in the second frame, but the Tigers leveled the score in the fourth inning thanks to a two-run double by Robbie Grossman.
In the fifth inning, Akil Baddoo's sacrifice fly put the Tigers ahead, a lead they maintained. They added another run in the eighth inning when a wild pitch contributed to their score.
Casey Mize was on the mound for six strong innings for the Tigers, conceding three runs on seven hits. Gregory Soto secured the victory with a scoreless ninth inning, earning the save.
This win marks the fourth consecutive victory for the Tigers, who are set to play against the Twins once more on Saturday night.
