The New Orleans Saints have confirmed that star running back Alvin Kamara has agreed to a two-year contract extension, securing his place on the team until 2026.
This new deal is reportedly valued at around $24.5 million, resolving the last major contract concern for the Saints this year.
Kamara, preparing for his sixth season with the Saints, had previously expressed his readiness to play the season without a new contract, recognizing the team's financial limitations and reinforcing his dedication to his teammates and the city of New Orleans.
During the current season, Kamara has been a significant performer for the Saints, achieving 111 rushes for 438 yards and six touchdowns, in addition to catching 34 passes for 252 yards and one more touchdown.
This contract extension not only eases immediate salary cap challenges for the Saints but also ensures Kamara remains an essential part of the team moving forward. According to the NFL Network, $22 million of the deal is guaranteed, which is expected to clear $18 million from the 2025 salary cap.
