Coach Shane Steichen has announced that Anthony Richardson will resume his role as the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, beginning with their upcoming game against the New York Jets on Sunday.
Having been the fourth overall selection in the 2023 draft, Richardson is set to continue as the starter for the remainder of the season, as confirmed by Steichen on Wednesday.
This decision was made two days after Steichen had initially stated that seasoned player Joe Flacco would be the one to start the game.
Flacco has been the starting quarterback for the Colts in their last two games, both of which resulted in losses. During these games, he turned the ball over six times.
Richardson had been benched in late October after he requested to be removed from a game due to fatigue.
Steichen expressed satisfaction with Richardson's progress over the past two weeks and mentioned that he is pleased with his development.
