Tampa Bay Buccaneers News & Updates

In Tampa, Florida, Baker Mayfield threw for 347 yards and two touchdowns during Tampa Bay's 33-16 triumph over the Philadelphia Eagles. Mike Evans set a new record as the Buccaneers' career scoring leader.

Mayfield successfully completed 30 of 47 passes without any interceptions and also managed to run for a touchdown. The Buccaneers dominated this rematch of last January's wild-card game.

Evans contributed eight receptions for 94 yards, surpassing Martin Gramatica to become Tampa Bay's top scorer with 596 points. Mayfield also connected with Trey Palmer for a touchdown pass and scored on a 1-yard run.

By halftime, Tampa Bay had an edge of 287-67 in yardage, with most of Philadelphia's offense stemming from a 14-play drive capped by a 1-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to Parris Campbell.

Despite the disparity, the Eagles narrowed the gap after Saquon Barkley’s 59-yard run set up a 1-yard touchdown run by Hurts. KeeLee Ringo capitalized on a blocked extra-point kick, returning it for a two-point defensive extra point, cutting Tampa Bay’s lead to 30-16.

Tampa Bay's defense recorded six sacks, leading to Hurts' career record falling to 1-4 against them. Barkley rushed for 94 yards on 10 carries, while Hurts completed 18 of 30 passes for 150 yards with no interceptions.

Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady made a special appearance at Raymond James Stadium as part of the broadcast crew and was officially welcomed back during the two-minute warning of the first half.

The Eagles were without key players, including top receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, and Pro Bowl tackle Lane Johnson. The Buccaneers missed All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield
