Cincinnati Bengals News & Updates

The Cincinnati Bengals have placed their running back Zack Moss on injured reserve as announced by coach Zac Taylor on Tuesday. This move suggests he will likely miss the rest of the season.

Last week's reports of a neck injury kept Moss from playing in the team's recent victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Subsequent evaluations indicated that Moss will need a longer period of recovery.

Coach Taylor expressed that while they are still collecting more information, it seems unlikely Moss will make a return this season.

While the initial signs suggest that Moss's injury is not career-ending, additional tests are being conducted. The exact timing of when the injury occurred is still not determined.

During the offseason, Moss signed a contract with the Bengals for two years valued at $8 million, which led to Joe Mixon's move to the Houston Texans.

Moss previously shared the backfield responsibilities with Chase Brown. However, Brown has demonstrated increased productivity recently. In the game against the Raiders, Brown achieved personal bests with 27 carries and 120 rushing yards.

To strengthen their running back lineup, the Bengals traded for Khalil Herbert from the Chicago Bears on Tuesday. Herbert arrived in Cincinnati around 2 p.m. and may be ready to play in the upcoming game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday.

Coach Taylor also addressed rumors regarding potential trades, dismissing any suggestion that wide receiver Tee Higgins, who is on the franchise tag, was nearly traded prior to Tuesday's deadline.

This season, Higgins has been absent for two games because of a quadricep injury and he did not participate in Tuesday night’s practice.
