Dallas Cowboys News & Updates

The Dallas Cowboys have added Brandin Cooks, their wide receiver, to the injured reserve list because of an infection in his knee.

The infection began after Cooks underwent a procedure to fix an issue with his meniscus. The infection has been treated, and his meniscus has been repaired.

Cooks will be unable to participate in the Cowboys' following four games, starting with Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is anticipated to be back on November 10th for the match against the Philadelphia Eagles.

To make up for Cooks' absence, the Cowboys will be relying on Jalen Tolbert, Jalen Brooks, KaVontae Turpin, and Ryan Flournoy.

There was a need for the roster spot due to injuries affecting the defensive line. Both Micah Parsons, who has an ankle issue, and DeMarcus Lawrence, dealing with a Lisfranc injury, are sidelined, leading to the signing of Nick Vigil and the promotion of Carl Lawson and Amani Oruwariye from the practice squad.
