The NFL has issued a five-game suspension without pay to Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. as a result of breaching the personal conduct policy.
Hall entered a no contest plea to allegations of disorderly conduct in September, following a domestic dispute. Since the start of the season, he has been placed on the commissioner's exempt list.
Periods on the exempt list are included in any future suspension calculations, and the player's salary for those games must be forfeited.
Initially facing charges of domestic violence, Hall received a suspended jail term, along with a fine and a period of supervised release. His fiancée's request led to the withdrawal of a protection order.
Selected as a second-round draft pick from Ohio State, Hall will be able to return to the field after the Browns' Week 5 matchup against the Washington Commanders.
