Jameis Winston has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week, becoming the first Cleveland Browns quarterback in four years to receive this recognition.
In his initial start since 2022, Winston achieved 334 passing yards and three touchdowns, guiding the Browns to a 29-24 win against the Baltimore Ravens. He broke the team record for passing yards for a Browns debut and delivered the decisive touchdown with just under a minute left in the game.
This award marks Winston's first Player of the Week honor since he played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019. He joins Baker Mayfield as the only Browns quarterbacks to be awarded this since 2020.
Winston stepped in for Deshaun Watson, who sustained a season-ending injury in Week 7. Coach Kevin Stefanski has confirmed that Winston will continue as the starting quarterback for the 2-6 Browns, who are set to welcome the 4-3 Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
