Browns Quarterback Deshaun Watson Out for Season After Achilles Tendon Rupture

The Cleveland Browns' quarterback, Deshaun Watson, has sustained a ruptured right Achilles tendon that will sideline him for the rest of the season.

According to Coach Kevin Stefanski, Watson will have surgery this week, although the specific procedure has not been disclosed.

The Browns plan to bring in another quarterback to either their active roster or practice squad.

Watson's injury occurred when his leg hyperextended during a play where there was no physical contact involved.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who stepped in for Watson, also experienced a finger injury.

Coach Stefanski expressed disapproval towards fans who reacted positively to Watson's injury.

Watson has faced challenges this season, reflected in his having the lowest QBR among the qualified quarterbacks.

This injury adds to the setbacks Watson has faced with the Browns, including a shoulder injury and a suspension related to sexual misconduct allegations.

Even though Watson has a five-year agreement, he has completed only 19 game starts so far and will conclude this season with just 19. The Browns are still obligated to pay Watson $46 million annually for the next two seasons.
