Tampa Bay Buccaneers News & Updates

Todd Bowles, the coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was not pleased with how his defense performed during the last drive by the Falcons, which resulted in an overtime defeat.

The game was tied by a field goal from Atlanta, made possible by a late spike with just a second left. Bowles pointed out that his team relaxed their pressure when they should have kept up a strong defense.

Following an interception by Lavonte David, Tampa Bay's offense quickly went three-and-out, allowing the Falcons to get the ball back with 1:14 remaining. Atlanta ran six offensive plays and executed two spikes before setting up for the field goal.

Bowles, who has a role on the NFL's competition committee, voiced his concerns regarding missed penalties, specifically face mask calls. He mentioned a clear infraction involving running back Bucky Irving that was ignored and stressed the importance of reviewing these incidents to improve the accuracy of officiating.

Rachaad White, a running back for Tampa Bay, also brought up the possibility of a hip drop tackle on him in the fourth quarter, but he hesitated to speak further on the issue to avoid getting fined.
