Tampa Bay Buccaneers News & Updates

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are moving to New Orleans as a precautionary measure due to Hurricane Milton before their matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

To avoid a second journey on Saturday, the team has arranged for lodging in New Orleans.

Hurricane Milton has quickly strengthened into a Category 4 storm, endangering Hillsborough County, Tampa included. Officials have ordered mandatory evacuations for certain regions.

Meteorologists are forecasting a potential storm surge of 8 to 12 feet in Tampa.

The area is already dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which caused significant damage across the state.

Previously, the Buccaneers went to Miami in 2022 due to Hurricane Ian and to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2017 because of Hurricane Irma.

The information was provided by Adam Schefter and The Associated Press.
