Buffalo Bills News & Updates

The Buffalo Bills' running back, James Cook, was absent from Monday night's matchup against the New York Jets due to a toe injury he picked up in an earlier game. After being a limited participant in practice on Saturday, Cook was listed as questionable.

With Cook unavailable, the Bills called up rookie running back Frank Gore Jr. from their practice squad to participate in his first official game. The running duties are expected to be mainly handled by Ty Johnson and Ray Davis.

As the Bills strive to avoid their first three-game losing streak since 2018, they had some concerns with several players' statuses. Though Cook and defensive tackle Ed Oliver weren't available, wide receiver Khalil Shakir, nickel cornerback Taron Johnson, and defensive tackle Austin Johnson, all of whom were previously considered questionable, were indeed active for the game. Notably, this marks Taron Johnson's return to the field since the first week of the season.
