Carolina Panthers News & Updates

The Carolina Panthers have taken steps to strengthen their team by offering running back Chuba Hubbard a contract extension for four additional years, extending through 2028.

Sources reveal that the contract is valued at $33 million, with potential to reach $37.2 million. It guarantees $15 million in full.

This extension aligns with General Manager Dan Morgan's plan to keep important players during the team's reconstruction phase.

The agreement with Hubbard was finalized shortly after the team activated Jonathon Brooks, a second-round draft selection. Although there was initial speculation about Brooks possibly succeeding Hubbard, this new contract signifies Coach Dave Canales' dedication to utilizing multiple running backs.

At present, Hubbard is in fifth place in the NFL for rushing yards, totaling 665, and he is 10th in rushing first downs with 33. He leads the Panthers with six touchdowns and ranks sixth in their history for rushing yards, accumulating 2,645.

Hubbard was on track to become a free agent following this season. Offensive Coordinator Brad Idzik expressed admiration for Hubbard's leadership qualities and strong work ethic.

Defensive Coordinator Ejiro Evero highlighted Hubbard's importance beyond the offensive plays, noting his positive impact on team morale and unwavering commitment.

As the Panthers prepare to face the New York Giants in Munich, there is speculation that they might extend the contract for cornerback Jaycee Horn, a vital part of their defense.
