The Boston Bruins secured their fourth consecutive win by narrowly defeating the New York Islanders 3-2 in overtime. The Bruins made a comeback from being two goals down in the final period to push the game into overtime, where David Pastrnak scored the decisive goal on a power play.
The Islanders initially took the lead in the second period with Mathew Barzal scoring a shorthanded goal. They further increased their advantage in the third period with a goal from Brock Nelson. However, the Bruins were determined and fought back resiliently.
Power play goals from David Pastrnak and Patrice Bergeron in the third period allowed the Bruins to equalize. Their momentum carried into overtime, resulting in a power play goal by Pastrnak that clinched the win.
Jeremy Swayman recorded 38 saves for the Bruins, while the Islanders' Ilya Sorokin made 32 saves.
With this victory, the Bruins' record stands at 37 wins, 14 losses, and 4 overtime losses, whereas the Islanders hold a record of 26 wins, 25 losses, and 8 overtime losses.
