The Royals began to close the gap with runs in both the fourth and fifth innings, yet the Guardians' relief pitchers ensured the lead was preserved.
Nick Sandlin and Eli Morgan played a key role by delivering four innings of relief without allowing any runs, helping to keep the Guardians ahead.
In the ninth inning, the Royals posed a significant threat by loading the bases with only one out. Nonetheless, Sam Hentges was able to strike out Vinnie Pasquantino and forced MJ Melendez into a groundout, bringing the game to an end.
