Tyree Jackson led Buffalo to a 38-27 victory over Akron by passing for 354 yards and four touchdowns. Jaret Patterson was a key contributor for the Bulls, rushing for 112 yards on 20 carries.

For Akron, quarterback Zach Gibson recorded 245 passing yards and connected for three touchdowns, though he had one interception. The Zips also suffered two fumbles during the game.

The Bulls' offense managed to dictate the pace by accumulating a total of 516 yards compared to Akron's 369. Buffalo was successful on 11 out of 16 third-down conversions and maintained possession for more than 35 minutes.

Akron's defense struggled to handle Buffalo's aerial attack, with Jackson completing 23 of his 33 pass attempts. Additionally, the Zips allowed 203 rushing yards.

Even in defeat, Akron's Konata Mumpfield had a notable game, securing eight passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns.
