Kansas City Chiefs News & Updates

During last week's game with the Los Angeles Chargers, Patrick Mahomes accidentally hit Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice while trying to retrieve a fumble. After reviewing the footage, Mahomes felt worried about Rice's condition and acknowledged his part in the mishap.

Injury kept Rice from participating in Thursday's practice. Coach Andy Reid mentioned that Rice will not be playing in Monday night's game against the New Orleans Saints. The extent of Rice's injury is still unknown, pending additional tests once the swelling decreases.

The absence of Rice will be felt by the Chiefs, but Reid highlighted that others on the team will have opportunities to step up. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has started a three-week practice period as he works on returning from the non-football injury list due to post-traumatic stress disorder. Initially, he will practice with the scout team.
