Chiefs Place Promising Wide Receiver Rashee Rice on IR, Sidelining Him for Extended Period

The Kansas City Chiefs have moved wide receiver Rashee Rice to injured reserve following a knee injury he sustained during Sunday's matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Rice's knee problem arose when quarterback Patrick Mahomes accidentally collided with him while trying to recover a fumble amid several other players.

The full scope of Rice's injury will remain unclear until next week. Further assessments will be conducted once the swelling in his knee decreases.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid expressed hope for a positive development but emphasized that the final diagnosis would be up to the medical team.

Reid acknowledged that while Rice has had an impressive season, injuries are an inevitable part of football, and they expect other players to fill in as needed.

Even in Rice's absence, the Chiefs maintain strong confidence in their remaining group of receivers.

This season, Rice has recorded 24 catches, accumulated 288 receiving yards, and scored two touchdowns over four games.
