The New York Giants experienced a dramatic downturn in their season after a harsh 38-10 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Earlier in the season, the Giants' defense had been a significant strength, but it crumbled against the Eagles' persistent offensive assault.
Quarterback Daniel Jones faced significant challenges, throwing two interceptions and struggling with consistent passes to his receivers. The Eagles' defense put significant pressure on Jones, who was sacked four times and forced into numerous poor decisions.
The Eagles showed strong performances on both sides of the ball. Jalen Hurts, the Eagles' quarterback, achieved over 250 passing yards and two touchdowns, while running back Miles Sanders gained over 100 rushing yards and a touchdown. Defensively, the Eagles limited the Giants to a mere 217 total yards and caused three turnovers.
The defeat leaves the Giants with a 6-10 record for the season, whereas the Eagles, now at 12-4, continue to compete for the NFC East title. With only two games left in the regular season, the Giants' chances of making the playoffs are now extremely slim.
