Kansas City Chiefs News & Updates

The Kansas City Chiefs have announced that wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster will not play in Week 8 because of a hamstring injury.

Head coach Andy Reid also stated that starting cornerback Jaylen Watson will be absent due to a fractured ankle, which might keep him out for the remainder of the season.

Smith-Schuster, 27, worsened his hamstring injury during practice on Thursday. As a result, he had to exit the 28-18 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the first quarter without being targeted.

This season, the wide receiver has achieved nine catches for 147 yards and one touchdown in six games, three of which he started.

After the game, Watson, 26, was seen using crutches and wearing a cast. Medical evaluations are being conducted to assess the severity of his ankle injury and estimate when he can return.

Watson has recorded six passes defensed and 32 tackles across his six starts.

The Chiefs, with a record of 6-0, will play against the Las Vegas Raiders, who currently stand at 2-5, on Sunday.
