The Red Sox emerged victorious against the Yankees on Tuesday night, winning 5-4 in the 10th inning of a thrilling match. The game was tied at 3-3 after nine innings, and in the top of the 10th, the Red Sox took control with a sacrifice fly by Xander Bogaerts.
The Yankees responded in the bottom of the 10th inning when Aaron Judge hit a double that brought home Gleyber Torres. With runners on second and third and no outs, the Red Sox called upon their bullpen for assistance.
Matt Barnes entered the game and struck out the following three batters, including Giancarlo Stanton with the bases loaded, to conclude the game and clinch the victory for the Red Sox.
With the win, the Red Sox now lead the series 3-2 and aim to finish it on Wednesday night in Game 6.
