The Los Angeles Rams claimed a 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, marking their second title in four years.
A significant contributor to the Rams' win was their defensive performance. Although the Bengals managed a field goal on their initial drive, the Rams shut them out for the rest of the first half. Additionally, the Los Angeles defense secured three turnovers, comprising two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
On the offensive side, the Rams focused on their running game, with Cam Akers leading the charge. Akers accumulated 102 yards on the ground and scored a touchdown, while quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 283 yards and one touchdown.
The Bengals initially took a 7-0 lead, but the Rams answered with a stretch of 13 consecutive points, securing a 13-7 lead by halftime. Cincinnati managed to level the score at 13 early in the second half, yet Los Angeles went back in front with a 55-yard field goal.
With just over 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Bengals narrowed the gap to 20-17, but the Rams responded with another field goal to widen their lead to six points.
Cincinnati had the opportunity to equalize the score with a little over a minute left in the game, but Joe Burrow was sacked on a critical fourth down play, ensuring Los Angeles' triumph.
