Cleveland Browns News & Updates

The Cleveland Browns have decided to keep Deshaun Watson as their starting quarterback, even after their 1-4 loss.

Head Coach Kevin Stefanski highlighted the need for the team to improve, noting that coaching mistakes are part of the team's difficulties.

This season, the Browns' offense has been underwhelming, failing to exceed 300 yards in any game. They recently managed only 212 yards and converted just one of 13 third downs in their 34-13 loss to the Washington Commanders.

In that game, Watson completed 15 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. However, he was sacked seven times and lost a fumble before being replaced by Jameis Winston on the final drive.

After five games, Watson's stats include a 60.2% completion rate, 852 passing yards, five touchdowns, three interceptions, and a low total quarterback rating of 23.9.

Watson expressed accountability, saying he takes the responsibility for the criticism and errors and is focused on finding ways to improve.

The Browns have scored less than 20 points in each of their five games, marking their longest stretch of low scoring since 1999. Stefanski remains hopeful about resolving these issues, insisting that they have the right players and coaches to do so.
