Chicago Bears News & Updates

Cole Kmet of the Chicago Bears did not know about Scott Daly's knee injury during the match. He was surprised to learn that Daly couldn’t participate and that he was expected to step in as a replacement. Kmet had been practicing snapping on Thursdays for situations like this.

Although Kmet confessed to feeling anxious, describing it as his worst fear, he performed admirably and contributed to the Bears' 35-16 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

His assignment was further complicated by having to snap for extra points, particularly after he scored two touchdowns himself.

Quarterback Caleb Williams delivered an outstanding game, achieving four touchdown passes and successfully completing 79% of his passes. His only error was an interception, which he promised to avoid in the future.

Kmet and Keenan Allen became the first Bears teammates since 1970 to each score two touchdowns in a single game.

Allen had an exceptional performance since joining the Bears, with five receptions for 41 yards and two touchdowns.

The Bears now have a 2-4 record as they enter their bye week, having scored at least 35 points in their last two victories.

Allen stressed the significance of complementary play, where special teams and the offense provide support to the defense.
