The Indianapolis Colts have moved defensive end Tyquan Lewis to injured reserve due to an elbow injury he suffered during Sunday's victory.
This development is a considerable setback for the Colts' defense, as Lewis becomes the third starting defensive lineman to be placed on injured reserve since the start of training camp. The other two sidelined starters are defensive end Samson Ebukam and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.
Lewis will be unable to play for at least the next four games, making his earliest potential return in Week 9 against Minnesota.
To address this gap, the Colts added defensive tackle Adam Gotsis and cornerback Kelvin Joseph to their practice squad. Gotsis participated in Sunday's game and made one tackle, while Joseph had previously spent two weeks on the Colts' practice squad earlier this season.
