Micah Parsons is scheduled for an MRI on his left ankle Friday following an injury in the Cowboys' victory over the Giants. He exited the game with three and a half minutes left. On-site X-rays were negative. DeMarcus Lawrence will also have an MRI on Friday due to a right foot injury sustained in the third quarter.
Parsons got injured while engaging with John Michael Schmitz Jr. during a pass rush, when Greg Van Roten fell onto his leg. Parsons limped to the sideline and was eventually carted off. He later used a golf cart to reach the team bus.
Dak Prescott commended Parsons' performance and expressed hope that the injury is not serious.
The victory was a boost for the Cowboys, who had previously lost two home games, allowing a total of 464 rushing yards. Against the Giants, they restricted the rushing game to just 26 yards on 24 carries, while Daniel Jones threw for 281 yards.
Prescott contributed with two touchdown passes, and Brandon Aubrey successfully made two field goals, including a 60-yarder.
Coach Mike McCarthy pointed out that despite the win, the Cowboys still have areas that need improvement.
The Cowboys now have a 10-day break before they face the Steelers on October 6, which might help Parsons in his recovery.
Prescott's 13th consecutive win against the Giants ties for the second-longest winning streak by a quarterback against a specific opponent.
Prescott stressed the importance of gaining momentum and avoiding a 1-3 record, underlining the necessity of trusting the process and peaking at the right time.
