The Dallas team has traded for wide receiver Jonathan Mingo and a seventh-round pick for 2025 from Carolina, giving up a fourth-round pick for the same year in return.
Mingo, who was picked in the second round in 2023, has recorded 12 catches totaling 121 yards this season. During his time with Carolina, he was behind Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker, and David Moore in the lineup.
This move seems advantageous for Carolina as they are in the process of rebuilding. Dallas owner Jerry Jones suggested they were interested in trading for a receiver who was highly valued during the draft.
The trade is reminiscent of when Dallas acquired Amari Cooper in 2018, an action that helped the team improve their record from 9-7 to 10-6 and clinch the NFC East title.
With CeeDee Lamb injured and Brandin Cooks still recovering, Mingo is expected to add depth to the wide receiver position for Dallas. While Jalen Tolbert has been performing well, Dallas is looking for increased output from their fourth to sixth receivers.
