The Dallas Cowboys' quarterback, Dak Prescott, is said to be heading to injured reserve due to a partial hamstring injury. Executive Vice President Stephen Jones mentioned that Prescott's recovery is expected to take more than four weeks.
According to various sources, Prescott's recovery is anticipated to last between six to eight weeks. Jerry Jones, the team owner and general manager, suggested that surgery could be an option, which might sideline Prescott for the entire regular season.
It is anticipated that Prescott will be placed on injured reserve by Saturday. The Cowboys plan to bring up a player from the practice squad to take his place on the roster. Prescott will be out for at least the upcoming four games and may require additional time before making a comeback.
At the moment, the Cowboys have a 3-5 record, and there's a chance they might be out of playoff contention by the time Prescott can return. However, Jerry Jones noted this possibility but stressed that it is not a current factor in their decision-making process.
