Dak Prescott Placed on IR: Cowboys QB to Miss Extended Time Due to Hamstring Injury

Dallas Cowboys News & Updates

The Dallas Cowboys are expected to place quarterback Dak Prescott on injured reserve following a hamstring injury he suffered during the defeat against the Atlanta Falcons. This decision would prevent him from playing for the next four games.

In Prescott's absence, Cooper Rush will step in as the starting quarterback, with Trey Lance serving as his backup. Rush holds a 5-1 record as a starter and guided the Cowboys to a 4-1 record in 2022 while Prescott was sidelined due to injury.

Prescott has been unable to play in previous games because of several injuries, including a fractured ankle, calf strain, and a broken thumb. Although his latest injury is a challenge for the Cowboys, team owner Jerry Jones has shown confidence in the team's capability to succeed with Rush at the helm.
