The decision to place Dak Prescott on injured reserve due to his hamstring issue has been postponed for the time being.
The Dallas Cowboys have the option to bring Prescott back by December 15th for the game against the Carolina Panthers if they act on it next week. Both Prescott and the team are still assessing how best to treat the injury.
If no surgery is performed, Prescott's recovery time is expected to be between six and eight weeks. At present, there has been no decision regarding surgery.
Cooper Rush is set to start as quarterback against the Philadelphia Eagles, with Trey Lance serving as the backup. The Cowboys are also considering adding another quarterback to the team or practice squad.
If Prescott is unable to play again this season, it would mark the second occasion he concludes the year on injured reserve, following a serious ankle injury in 2020.
Josh Butler and Jalen Cropper have been promoted from the practice squad. Trevon Diggs, who had missed practice previously due to illness, was able to participate in activities on Saturday.
