Dallas Cowboys News & Updates

The season has come to an end for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott after he sustained a partial avulsion of his hamstring during the defeat by the Atlanta Falcons.

Prescott is scheduled to have surgery in New York, which will result in him missing the remainder of the season as the recovery period lasts three months.

Though several sources indicated that Prescott could recover in six to eight weeks without surgery, the Cowboys are currently at a 3-6 record with eight games left in the season.

This marks the second instance in five seasons that Prescott hasn't been able to complete a season due to injury, the first being his right ankle dislocation and fracture in 2020.

In September, Prescott agreed to a four-year, $240 million contract extension, which made him the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history.

In the upcoming Monday game against the Houston Texans, Cooper Rush will be the starting quarterback with Trey Lance serving as his backup.

The Cowboys have added Will Grier to the practice squad, giving them three quarterbacks.
