Dallas Cowboys News & Updates

Brandin Cooks, the wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, will not be playing in the upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is sidelined due to a knee infection that arose after he underwent a recent procedure.

It has been reported that Cooks had this procedure carried out in New York after last week's victory against the Giants. When he came back to Dallas, he began showing symptoms and had to undergo surgery to address the infection.

The Cowboys' Coach, Mike McCarthy, has confirmed Cooks' unavailability for the game against the Steelers.

Thirty-one-year-old Cooks has been contending with a knee problem since training camp. However, this issue had not stopped him from either playing or participating in practice sessions. The infection originates from a similar procedure done during camp that was initially successful.

With Cooks out, the Cowboys face a challenge as their receiving team becomes less experienced and lacks depth behind CeeDee Lamb. The team includes Jalen Tolbert, Jalen Brooks, KaVontae Turpin, and Ryan Flournoy, whose combined contributions have been limited so far.

Despite these challenges, Coach McCarthy has shown faith in these players and believes that Flournoy, in particular, will gain from Cook's absence.
