Cleveland Browns News & Updates

A legal case brought against Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson for sexual assault and battery has reached a resolution, the plaintiff's lawyer has announced.

The attorney representing Watson confirmed the agreement and stated it remains confidential.

This lawsuit was initiated in September and described incidents taking place in 2020 prior to a scheduled dinner meeting with a woman. Watson refuted these allegations.

The NFL has been examining the complaint but has not placed Watson on the commissioner's exempt list.

Watson was previously suspended for 11 games due to similar accusations and resolved 23 of 24 related cases.

The recent lawsuit is not connected to the two remaining active cases involving claims of misconduct against Watson.

Despite the legal challenges, Watson has retained his position as the starting quarterback for the Browns.

Throughout five games this season, Watson has delivered underwhelming performances, recording the lowest QBR among qualified quarterbacks.
