Chicago Bears News & Updates

In the midst of challenges, Caleb Williams acknowledges feeling supported by his teammates, even though there are reports suggesting veteran players have requested that backup quarterback Tyson Bagent take the starting position.

Although Williams' recent performances have seen a marked decline, wide receiver DJ Moore voices his support and refutes claims that players demanded a change in the role of offensive coordinator.

Coach Matt Eberflus has confirmed that there was player frustration, but denied a formal request for a change. It was Eberflus himself who decided to dismiss offensive coordinator Shane Waldron in an effort to boost the team's performance.

Eberflus stated that Williams will start in the upcoming game against Green Bay but did not commit to his future in the position. The coach named Thomas Brown as the new offensive coordinator, emphasizing the need for innovative strategies.

Despite their earlier dissatisfaction, players were surprised by Waldron's dismissal. Keenan Allen associated the team's difficulties with Waldron's perceived lack of decisiveness.

Under Brown's guidance, players are expecting a shift in approach, particularly one that is less forgiving of inadequate performance.
