The Boston Red Sox triumphed over the New York Yankees with a 6-5 victory in an exciting extra-inning match at Yankee Stadium. In the 11th inning, Xander Bogaerts secured the win by hitting a decisive single that brought Jonathan Arauz home.
The Red Sox established an early advantage in the game thanks to Franchy Cordero's three-run home run during the first inning. The Yankees, however, staged a comeback with Aaron Judge hitting a two-run homer in the second inning and Giancarlo Stanton tying the score in the sixth with a solo home run.
The stalemate persisted until the 11th inning when the Red Sox managed to load the bases with just one out. Jonathan Arauz hit a single, allowing Trevor Story to score and giving the Red Sox a 5-4 lead. Nonetheless, the Yankees managed to tie the score once more with a sacrifice fly by DJ LeMahieu.
In the bottom of the 11th inning, with two outs, Bogaerts stepped up to the plate and delivered a clutch single to left field, bringing Arauz home and concluding the game in favor of the Red Sox.
