Ex-NFL Linebacker Colin Allred Concedes Texas Senate Race to Republican Ted Cruz

Senator Ted Cruz from Texas won reelection by defeating Representative Colin Allred in the race for the U.S. Senate. Allred, who previously played as a linebacker in the NFL, retired from sports to embark on a legal career.
In his concession speech, Allred congratulated Cruz and highlighted the significance of patriotism. Although he did not win, he committed to staying devoted to public service.
Having run in the 2016 presidential election, Cruz also held the position of Texas' solicitor general. This recent win represents his third term as a U.S. Senator.
