In a game held in Tampa, Florida, Kirk Cousins led the Atlanta Falcons to a 31-26 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, clinching the top spot in the NFC South. Cousins accumulated 276 passing yards and threw four touchdown passes. Kyle Pitts contributed with two touchdown receptions of 36 and 49 yards, while Darnell Mooney and Bijan Robinson also caught touchdown passes.

Although Buccaneers' top receivers Chris Godwin and Mike Evans were sidelined with injuries, Mayfield effectively connected with Cade Otton for two touchdown passes. One of these was a 4-yard pass that cut the Falcons' lead to 31-26. Nonetheless, the Falcons managed to maintain possession and missed a 46-yard field goal with just over a minute left in the game.
The Falcons have achieved a 4-0 record within their division, while the Buccaneers stand at 4-4 overall. Despite the defeat, the Buccaneers are hopeful that with an improved running game and a young set of dynamic players, they can compete for their fourth consecutive division title.
On the Falcons' injury front, safety Justin Simmons (hamstring) and inside linebacker Troy Andersen (knee) were not active. Defensive lineman Ruke Orhorhoro left in the third quarter due to an ankle injury and did not return, while right guard Chris Lindstrom missed part of the fourth quarter because of a knee issue.
