Cleveland Browns News & Updates

Daniel Jones orchestrated two touchdown passes to rookie Malik Nabers, while New York's defense frequently sacked Deshaun Watson, securing a 21-15 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Jones completed 24 of 34 passes for 236 yards, aiding the Giants in overcoming a loss that had sparked criticism towards coach Brian Daboll.

The Browns made a push in the fourth quarter, but their offense struggled due to injuries to three linemen. Watson managed a touchdown pass to Amari Cooper, yet Cleveland missed three chances to take the lead, including a fumble by running back Jerome Ford and two failed attempts on fourth down.

New York continued to experience special teams difficulties, with kicker Greg Joseph missing a field goal that could have widened their lead. Nonetheless, Nabers shone brightly, making eight receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns, including an outstanding catch in the end zone.

Watson was under constant pressure throughout, enduring eight sacks as the Browns' offense faltered. Injuries to starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr., right guard Wyatt Teller, and backup tackle James Hudson III forced a reconfiguration of their line.

The Giants dominated the first half, with Jones nearly completing all his passes and Nabers scoring twice. Browns' coach Kevin Stefanski was met with boos from fans as his team exited to the locker room at halftime.

Cleveland opened strong with a touchdown on the first play, but New York quickly regained control, holding a 21-7 lead heading into the second half.
