Hurricane Milton Causes NFL, NHL Teams and LPGA Q-Series to Move Due to Evacuations

In anticipation of Hurricane Milton, the Tampa Bay Lightning have moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, to face the Carolina Hurricanes for their season opening game on Friday. Hurricane Milton, categorized as a level 4 storm, is forecasted to hit the Tampa Bay area by Wednesday night.

The Lightning's home game against Carolina on Saturday is still on the schedule. Meanwhile, the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers have shifted their game location to New Orleans, where they will play against the Saints on Sunday.

In college sports, the football match between Memphis and South Florida at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa has been moved from Friday to Saturday because of the approaching hurricane.

The South Florida football squad is transitioning to Orlando, and the American Athletic Conference is keeping track of conditions to make any necessary changes.

The LPGA has delayed its Q-Series qualifying event, originally planned to start in Venice, Florida, on Sunday, prioritizing the safety of both participants and the community. They will give an update once the storm passes.
