Jacksonville Jaguars News & Updates

The Jacksonville Jaguars demonstrated their tenacity, overcoming an early deficit against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Initially behind by 10 points, the Jaguars made a comeback with Tank Bigsby achieving 118 rushing yards and scoring two touchdowns. Parker Washington added a 96-yard punt return for a touchdown, and Brian Thomas Jr. caught a touchdown pass.

Drake Maye, the rookie quarterback for the Patriots, managed one scoring drive in the fourth quarter but couldn't execute a second, leading to New England’s sixth straight defeat.

Following their prior loss, safety Andre Cisco withdrew statements implying any lack of effort within the team, clarifying that he had addressed this with his teammates.

Jacksonville scored four times after their initial disadvantage, with Thomas securing a 6-yard touchdown pass and contributing to the decisive score with a 58-yard catch.

Despite some missed chances in the latter half, Bigsby’s last touchdown confirmed the victory.

The Patriots faced challenges sustaining their momentum, exemplified by Maye's 276 passing yards and two touchdowns. Head coach Jerod Mayo described his team's performance as lacking in resilience.

The game saw notable attendees, including Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez wearing an England football jersey and the presence of U.S. national team goalkeeper Matt Turner.

Looking forward, the Jaguars are set to play the Green Bay Packers at home next week, while the Patriots will compete against the New York Jets.
