Cleveland Browns News & Updates

Before the game began, Jameis Winston encouraged his Browns teammates to have faith in themselves, and they responded to his call to action.

With just 59 seconds remaining, Winston connected with Cedric Tillman for a 38-yard touchdown pass, securing a surprising 29-24 win against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.

In his first game start in over two years, Winston successfully led the Browns (2-6) to defeat their AFC North opponent after an emotionally charged week.

Winston, who threw for 334 yards, expressed his delight, describing the victory as an incredible feeling. This unexpected triumph came shortly after Watson's season came to an end with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Despite a late comeback attempt by Jackson, who maneuvered the Ravens (5-3) to Cleveland's 24-yard line in the final moments, the Browns held their ground and prevented a score.

In his initial start since 2022, Winston completed 27 of 41 passes, providing essential leadership to the team.

Winston also contributed to the highest scoring game for the team this season, surpassing the 300-yard passing mark—something Watson has yet to achieve during his challenging time in Cleveland.

Winston's outstanding play offers the Browns renewed hope in a season that seemed to be derailing. Last year, following Watson's injury, Joe Flacco emerged from semi-retirement and managed to lead the Browns to the playoffs.

On the ground, Nick Chubb amassed 52 yards, securing his position as third on Cleveland's career rushing list. Unfortunately, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah sustained a neck injury and had to be transported to the hospital.
