New York Jets News & Updates

New York Jets coach Robert Saleh has emphasized the importance of quarterback Aaron Rodgers's cadence and believes it should remain unchanged.

Following a game overshadowed by numerous penalties, Saleh and his coaching team have been looking for ways to minimize pre-snap violations, but modifying Rodgers's cadence is not being considered as a potential fix.

Rodgers is known for his ability to draw offsides penalties and generate "free plays" using his cadence, and he views the five false starts in the game against Denver as a rare occurrence.

Penalties have been a persistent problem for the Jets under Saleh's leadership, ranking among the most penalized teams since 2021. Saleh's strategy includes simplifying tasks to reduce pre-snap penalties.

The Jets have faced challenges in pass protection, giving up 14 quarterback hits and five sacks in the recent game. Even though Rodgers was limping after one sack, he is expected to be ready for the upcoming game against Minnesota, a team with 17 sacks this season.
